I have struggled for my entire life trying to find the perfect combination of products to tame my unruly, curly hair. After 20.5 years, I have finally succeeded! Before I started using these products my hair would never cooperate. Half of it would curl, some pieces would lie flat, and all of it was frizzy. All I wanted was to have hair that curled evenly! I decided to try some new products on a whim, and they ended up being the perfect match for the beast that is my hair. The best part? All of the products are from the drugstore!
I use the full line of L’Oreal EverCurl products in conjunction with a Turbie Twist and a Wet Brush. My hair care routine takes about 10 minutes and only uses 5 products in total! The end result? Hair that looks like this:
Here’s how I do it.
In the Shower
I start off by washing my hair thoroughly with the L’Oreal EverCurl Shampoo. After rinsing it out, I apply the EverCurl Conditioner to the bottom 3/4 of my hair. I leave the conditioner in while I do everything else. When it’s time to get out of the shower, I run through my hair with the Wet Brush Paddle Brush to wash out the conditioner.
Out of the Shower
I squeeze the excess water out and put my hair in a Turbie Twist. I leave it on for about 10-15 minutes to allow my hair to dry. After removing my hair from the towel, I use about two pumps of the EverCurl Sculpt & Hold Cream-Gel. I first part my hair on the left side and then finger-comb the product through my hair. I then let my hair finish air-drying! That’s it, folks, my entire hair care routine.
I’ve found that it doesn’t make a difference whether I wash my hair in the morning or at night. Even when I sleep on my wet hair, the curls come out perfectly in the morning! If I ever don’t feel like washing my hair, I use the Dove Detox and Purify Dry Shampoo. This tends to flatten out my curls, so I normally end up putting my hair in a braid or a bun.
