Lauren’s New Journey: The Rebrand

Lauren’s Journey got a makeover! After four months of consistent blogging, I decided it was time to rebrand. I started my blog back in January when I was going through the toughest time of my life. Blogging was something I always wanted to do, and I figured it was now or never. I never started out with a mission statement or a goal in mind — I just wanted to have a blog.

Now I know that blogging consists of more than just, well, blogging. There is so much behind-the-scenes effort that goes into a post. From coming up with an idea, to scheduling content, to promoting it — blogging is a lot of work. I don’t just want to blog, I want to successfully blog. I’ve noticed that all successful blogs have something in common: they have a mission statement. Their mission statement is what drives every single post they publish. This doesn’t mean that every post has to be about the same subject, it just means that each post is intentional and has a purpose.

My Mission Statement

Lauren’s Journey is a mental health and lifestyle blog aimed to promote an open discussion of mental health among young adults. Here you will find advice for coping and striving with your mental illness as well as tips for a successful college life. This blog is here to help readers achieve their life goals while encouraging self-love.

What This Means for Lauren’s Journey

Going forward, you should expect my posts to align with my mission statement. I won’t only post about mental health and college; you should still expect fun posts, too! I believe you need fun posts intertwined with serious ones to keep a healthy mindset. Additionally, I am striving to include my photography in every future post. Photography is my favorite hobby but I don’t pick up my camera nearly enough. My new theme needs high-resolution photos for the post previews to work correctly, which I hope will encourage me to keep producing photographs that inspire me.

What You Should Expect Moving Forward

  • Advice for doing your best in college & in life with a mental illness
  • Ways to discuss your mental illness with those around you
  • Personal stories meant to inspire you
  • Tips for encouraging self-love
  • Makeup, skincare, and fashion posts that promote being your best self
  • Travel advice and photography

I’m excited for the new direction that my blog is heading in and I hope that you are, too! As a quick recap, I will now:

  • Write all posts with my mission statement in mind
  • Include photography in all of my posts
  • Stick to a consistent posting schedule (Tuesdays & Thursdays)

To all of you who have been here since the beginning, thank you for sticking around. For those of you who are joining me now, welcome to my (new) journey!

xo,

Lauren
