How many times have you left home and realized that you forgot something important? That was pretty much me every day until I came up with the simplest solution. I started putting every important item for self-care in a makeup bag. This way, I can easily toss it between my backpack, purse, overnight bag, etc. Someone tell me why it took me almost twenty-one-years to come up with this idea. It’s not rocket science.
This bag has saved me from many mishaps and panic attacks. It was also under $10 at Target. So, what exactly do I keep in it?
I cannot stress enough the importance of always keeping your prescription medicine with you! You never want to be in a situation where you are unable to take a medication that you are supposed to take daily. I have had to drive home during my break at work before because I forgot my anxiety medication. Not fun. Now that I can just toss this bag into whatever larger bag I’m taking with me for the day, I never have to worry about forgetting my meds.
I also like to carry Excedrin, Tums, and Pepto Bismol with me. I’m very much a “better-safe-than-sorry” type of person. I feel a lot better knowing that I have medication on hand just in case I need it.
You never know when mother nature is going to hit! This is generally my emergency supply, and I keep more in the side pockets of my other bags. This way I won’t use these up unless necessary.
If you wear contacts, you know that sometimes they can be a pain. My contacts like to fall out when I rub my eyes (which I do a lot) and you can’t use water to re-wet them. Mini bottles of contact solution are my savior.
There are a lot of germs on a college campus. Once again, better safe than sorry.
My hands get super dry and itchy especially when it’s cold outside. My favorite lotion is Bath & Body Works Warm Vanilla Sugar. It smells great and relieves my itchy skin!
I am the biggest fan of the Aquaphor Lip Balm. It’s seriously the only one that has ever worked on my lips.
My hair is super thick and hair ties love to break on me. It’s great to always have a backup.
I’m really clumsy and prone to paper cuts. I prefer not to bleed everywhere so yay for band-aids!
What do you always carry with you?
